Woman Drove 124 MPH Before Killing Attorney in I-595 Crash, Prosecutors Say

A 19-year-old Sunny Isles Beach woman, Sofia Todorov, is facing vehicular homicide and reckless driving charges after crashing into a minivan on Interstate 595 in Davie in 2024, killing passenger Lorene Seeler Young, 65, a local attorney.

Court documents show Todorov was driving a Lexus at 124 mph just before the May 19 crash. Authorities allege she rear-ended the minivan while driving recklessly. Vehicle black box data confirmed the excessive speed.

Young’s children have filed a civil lawsuit against Todorov and her mother, who allegedly let her drive. The van’s surviving driver also claims ongoing injuries from the crash…
