3 fallen deputies honored with highway tribute, State Road 80 lanes to close for ceremony

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The three Palm Beach County Sheriff deputies who lost their lives while in the line of duty are being honored on Friday with a motor unit drive-by tribute.

In honor of the three deputies who lost their lives on November 21, 2024, the stretch of the highway will be renamed “PBSO Motormen Highway”. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says drivers should expect for two of the three eastbound lanes on State Road 80 to be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to help facilitate the unveiling of the new signs.

FDOT is asking drivers for patience and understanding during the event. While no detours are planned at this time, motorists should expect delays…
