Drone surveillance leads to arrest in West Palm Beach cocaine sting

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — West Palm Beach police used a drone to record an undercover drug buy that resulted in the arrest of a man accused of selling cocaine and Xanax within 1,000 feet of a park and multiple churches.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the sting unfolded over two days in September after narcotics detectives targeted 824 6th Street, a property long suspected of drug activity. An undercover agent arranged two separate purchases from Jonathan Warren Rucker, 36, who allegedly directed transactions involving crack cocaine and Xanax while under drone surveillance.

The police report details that the first buy occurred on September 9, when Rucker coordinated a $100 crack cocaine sale through an associate. A second operation on September 16 involved Rucker personally accepting cash for Xanax pills and later facilitating another cocaine deal.
