Palm Beach sewer-pipe break prompts no-swim advisory for Intracoastal

State health officials are warning people to stay out the Intracoastal Waterway after a Palm Beach wastewater line began leaking near the Lake Worth Lagoon.

Officials are still waiting on the results of fecal bacteria tests, but the Florida Department of Health has issued a health alert and a no-swim advisory for the lagoon’s waters between 45th Street and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach, according to a Dec. 5 alert. That area would include parts of Palm Beach’s North End on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Health officials also warned nearby properties to avoid using their irrigation systems…
