19-Year-Old Arrested as Sixth Suspect in Shooting at Unpermitted “Peace in the Hood” Event in Sara Sims Park

In the ongoing investigation of a shooting that disrupted a “Peace in the Hood” anti-violence event, a sixth individual has been apprehended, Tevens Darnell Bradley, 19 years old, was arrested with the aid of U.S. Marshals in connection to the incident that took place on July 5 at Sara Sims Park, where gunfire between rival gangs left three women injured, as CBS12 reported.

The shooting happened during an event that was held without a city permit and was aimed at bringing peace to the community; as the city had previously denied the permit due to staffing limitations but the organizers went ahead with the event and it drew a crowd of 400 to 500 people, including families with children and gunfire broke out just after 8 p.m., allegedly between the 16th Ave Boys and the Cherry Hill Boyz, according to CBS12.

Bradley faces charges of improper exhibition of a firearm with a felony gang enhancement, WPBF notes, the same offense for which five other men were previously arrested over the span of several months, the men, identified as Jamarion Petty, 19, Kenneth Hollis, 25, Javon Johnson, 19, D’Andre Leger, 20, and Travonte Edwards, 21, face criminal counts ranging from attempted second-degree murder to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon…
