DAVIE, Fla. — One person was killed and another injured in a crash on the Florida Turnpike in Broward County early Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Officials reported that a Mercedes-Benz SUV was stopped in the southbound center lane near Interstate 595 in Davie when a tractor-trailer, also traveling in the center lane, was unable to avoid it. The tractor-trailer struck the back of the SUV, pushing it into a southeasterly direction and into a concrete median wall.
The SUV’s driver, whose identity has not been released, was hospitalized with serious injuries. A passenger, identified by FHP as a 36-year-old woman from Miami, died at the scene…
