PBC teen with autism prepares for her first half marathon with her dad

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County teen who was diagnosed with a severe form of autism at a young age is now preparing to run her first half-marathon, with her dad right beside her. After years of therapies, early intervention, and a family who never gave up, 16-year-old Crystal Callahan is defying the odds.

Crystal and her father, Bill Callahan, train together at Montecito Lake, sometimes every day. What started as a therapeutic activity slowly turned into a passion for Crystal.
