West Palm Beach, FLA. (WPEC) — South Florida will see periods of rain and a few thunderstorms through the morning hours, with the highest rain chances focused across metro areas. Some of these storms may produce brief heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding on roadways and in low-lying areas.
A widespread area of rain is expected to persist through late morning. This broad area of precipitation is being supported by a weak disturbance aloft, which is a small ripple in the upper atmosphere that helps lift moist air upward. Rain chances will remain in the 50 to 60 percent range until midday, with most areas receiving light to moderate totals but a few isolated spots seeing up to 2 to 3 inches before conditions improve.
