WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A six-figure Florida Lottery claim quickly unraveled after investigators say the “winning” ticket had been stolen weeks earlier.
According to officials with the Florida Lottery, just before noon on October 30, 26-year-old Jawed Areeb presented a Florida Lottery Fantasy5 ticket at the Florida Lottery Office in West Palm Beach.
Areeb handed over his ID and a ticket that was reportedly identified by its serial number as a winner worth $115,733.61…
