WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — A 21-year-old Wellington man pleaded guilty to one count of abandonment of an animal on Wednesday after following his arrest in 2025. Deputies say a dog and a snake were found severely neglected inside a home, leading to multiple animal cruelty charges.
According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office probable cause affidavit, deputies arrested Jacquavian Devol, 21, on April 28, 2025, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Stonegate Drive.
Deputies reported they were called to the home while assisting animal control officers during a search related to a separate investigation. Inside the residence, authorities said they discovered a deceased snake inside a terrarium and a gray pit bull confined to a crate in the garage.
