Florida Girl, 8, Rushed to Save Her Mother During Knife Attack, Suffers Deep Wound: Police

Fort Lauderdale, Florida — An 8-year-old girl is being hailed as a hero after police say she intervened during a violent domestic attack, stepping between her mother and a knife wielded by her stepfather — an act that likely saved her mother’s life.

According to authorities, Daquan Delancy, 30, is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, and aggravated child abuse. He is currently being held at the Broward County Jail without bond, court records show.
