A fatal accident occurred on I-95 in Pompano Beach this morning when a truck crashed into a barrier wall and ended up in a ditch. The driver’s identity has not been released. According to Local 10, the incident happened on the northbound side of the highway near Copans Road.
Following the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the driver was taken to North Broward Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. A witness who was behind the truck at the time told troopers that the vehicle left the road “for no apparent reason.” The FHP is investigating whether a medical episode may have contributed to the crash, NBC Miami reports.
