West Palm Beach man dies after scooter-pickup truck crash at busy intersection

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 56-year-old man died after a collision between his scooter and a pickup truck at a busy intersection in West Palm Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that the crash occurred on February 2 at around 3:29 p.m. at the intersection of South Military Trail and Purdy Lane. Investigators say a 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 42-year-old man was traveling west on Purdy Lane with a green traffic signal when the crash happened.

According to the crash report, James Gerald Terzano was riding his scooter south on South Military Trail when he entered the intersection against a red light. The pickup struck the left side of Terzano’s scooter, causing him to be thrown from the vehicle and land in the roadway…
