ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Three members of a warehouse sanitation crew have been arrested after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators say they orchestrated a scheme to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of ribeye Angus steaks from an Aldi distribution center.
According to arrest reports, the thefts occurred at the Aldi Distribution Center located at 1171 N. State Road 7 and were carried out over a 16-day period from Jan. 11 to Jan. 27, 2026 . Detectives say the suspects systematically removed cases of packaged ribeye steaks from inventory pallets inside the warehouse.
Investigators identified the suspects as Suriel Alvarez Cordova, 47; Yan Carlos Romero Trujillo, 26; and Luis David Figueroa Hernandez, 23. All three face charges of grand theft over $750 and an organized scheme to defraud. According to reports, surveillance video — more than 190 clips — documented the alleged thefts.
Detectives say the group used two primary methods to steal the steaks. In one method, cases of meat were concealed inside rolling trash bins, hidden beneath garbage bags, and moved to other areas of the warehouse before being retrieved. In another method, suspects allegedly stuffed steaks inside bulky freezer suits worn in refrigerated areas, making the packages difficult to detect, before exiting through unauthorized doors…
