Boca Raton postpones vote on new stand-alone emergency room rules

BOCA RATON — Plans for new stand-alone emergency rooms have stalled as city leaders are deadlocked over the rules for building them.

The city council is divided, with some members calling for more safety data while others countered that the delay was simply a “tactic” to hold up a policy that has been under discussion for 18 months.
