RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Heavy rainfall Friday morning led to significant flooding across parts of Riviera Beach, prompting police to issue an urgent traffic alert and warn drivers to stay clear of several major roadways.
According to Riviera Beach Police, floodwaters between the 100–400 blocks of Australian Avenue and along U.S. 1 have reached more than a foot and a half deep, making the roads hazardous and in some spots impassable. Officers are urging drivers to avoid the area entirely and use Congress Avenue as an alternate route.
