DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County woman is suing a popular Delray Beach bar after she says she was burned by a lit sparkler during bottle service.
According to a newly filed complaint, Nicole Bernier filed the lawsuit on March 16 against Throw Social Delray Beach LLC, alleging negligence in connection with an incident that happened exactly two years earlier, on March 16, 2024. The lawsuit states Bernier was at the Southeast 2nd Avenue venue as a business invitee when a bottle service bartender carrying a lit sparkler walked through a crowded area and burned her on the back of her arm.
Bernier claims she suffered significant and permanent injuries, including burns, scarring, disfigurement, pain and suffering, emotional trauma, and other long-term damage, according to the filing.
