North Dixie Nightmare Man Found Shot Dead on Pompano Beach Street

Overnight in Pompano Beach, a man was found fatally shot in the 1600 block of North Dixie Highway, shutting down a key stretch of the road for hours as deputies swarmed the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead where he was found, and Broward Sheriff’s homicide and crime-scene units moved in to process evidence. That section of North Dixie was closed for about four hours while investigators worked the case, then later reopened to traffic.

According to Local 10, deputies responded after receiving reports of a body in the road and discovered a man who had been shot. Authorities have not publicly identified the person who was found dead, and detectives continued processing the area overnight.

Investigation Underway

The Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are leading the investigation, the teams that routinely handle complex cases across the county, including fatal shootings in Pompano Beach, per the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
