Breezy conditions continue as South Florida turns more unsettled next week

West Palm Beach, FLA. (WPEC) โ€” A steady onshore breeze will continue across South Florida through the weekend, with choppy conditions on the water and only spotty rain – for now.

Boaters should be prepared for periods of hazardous conditions across the Atlantic through Saturday as easterly winds remain moderate to strong. There is a small craft advisory and a rip current advisory in effect.

For today, high pressure keeps the overall pattern fairly quiet. That means warm temperatures in the 80s and only isolated showers. A brief thunderstorm canโ€™t be ruled out, but any stronger activity will be very limited. Most of the afternoon rain will favor inland and Gulf coast areas as the sea breeze, the wind air moving in from the ocean that develops based on temperature differences, pushes activity westward.

By Sunday, the pattern begins to shift. Moisture increases as a weakening front stalls to the north, allowing more fuel for showers and storms. Rain chances rise, especially during the afternoon and evening, with the highest coverage expected inland.
