A 29-year-old Florida woman who stole a nurse’s license to work in the profession will avoid jail time for what the county sheriff described as “one of the most disturbing cases of medical fraud we’ve ever investigated.”
Autumn Bardisa, 29, was sentenced April 7 to five years of probation, including 50 hours of community service, after entering a no-contest plea, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday. She was charged with one count of unlicensed practice of a health care profession and one count of fraudulent use of personal identification information.
The Palm Beach resident will also be required to submit a written apology to the nurse whose license number she stole to practice health care at AdventHealth Palm Coast for 18 months, during which she treated more than 4,400 patients without a license…
