Boynton Beach man dies weeks after electric dirt bike crash on golf course cart path

WEST BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 54-year-old Boynton Beach man has died weeks after a crash involving an electric dirt bike on a golf course cart path in western Boynton Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened about 1 p.m. March 23 at 12250 Westchester Club in Boynton Beach, the sheriff’s office said. Investigators said Scott Herman was riding a 2025 Rawrr Mantis X electric dirt bike at a high rate of speed on a cart path near the fifth hole at Westchester Country Club when he drove off the path and into the grass.

For reasons that remain under investigation, Herman lost control and was thrown from the bike, according to the report. He was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries at 8:40 p.m. April 10, the sheriff’s office said…
