Nancy Metayer’s mother to run for slain daughter’s Coral Springs commission seat

Marly Metayer has officialy joined the race to fill the City Commission seat that once belonged to her daughter, slain vice mayor Nancy Metayer, according to Coral Springs’ campaign finance website.

She does not appear to have a campaign website and has not spoken publicly about her campaign as of May 13.

She did, however, update her public Facebook profile, featuring an image of her wearing a T-shirt from Avanse Ansanm, a Haitian-American civic education organization Nancy Metayer helped establish.

Marly Metayer’s daughter was found dead in the home she shared with her husband, Stephen Bowen, on April 1. Bowen now faces premeditated murder and evidence tampering charges for allegedly shooting and killing her the night before she was set to announce a bid for Congress…
