Post-storm fires threaten structures in Payette County. Kuna blazes extinguished

Payette County deputies and multiple Payette County Fire Departments responded late Thursday afternoon to active brush fires, according to the Payette County Sheriff’s Office.

The fires blazed near Interstate 84 between mileposts 13 and 17 and between Southeast 8th and 9th avenues off of Sand Hollow Road, according to a news release, after a powerful storm system with high, damaging winds blew through the Treasure Valley.

“There are reports of structures being threatened and possibly on fire,” the release said, indicating reports of the fires came in at roughly 4:45 p.m. “Residents are urged to remain alert, be aware of their surroundings, and be prepared to evacuate immediately if conditions worsen or evacuation orders are issued.”…
