Idaho National Guard Hosts Armor Day Tomorrow at Warhawk Air Museum

The Idaho Army National Guard’s 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team is hosting Armor Day at the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa on Saturday. The event, free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is the brigade’s farewell to armor as the unit transitions to a mobile brigade combat team.

The open house will feature an Abrams main battle tank, a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, a Paladin howitzer, additional static displays and family-friendly activities.

The unit has operated armor equipment since 1949 and is currently reorganizing as part of the U.S. Army’s Transformation Initiative. The strategic modernization effort is designed to strengthen the military’s capabilities in response to emerging global threats by adapting fighting formations and integrating new technologies to prepare units and Soldiers to fight on the battlefield of the future…
