NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) — With the Snake River Stampede just days away, crews at the Ford Idaho Center are preparing the arena by moving and shaping tons of dirt to create the right surface for the rodeo.
Gary Heath, senior director of operations for the Ford Idaho Center, said the venue uses multiple types of dirt on the grounds, including a specific mix reserved for the Snake River Stampede.
“So, we have about 6, 7 types of dirt on the grounds. This is specifically for the Snake River Stampede. They purchased this ground over twenty years ago, umm, it actually has history, it came off the Oregon Trail, so they are very protective of it, and this is the only thing it’s used for,” Heath said…
