Boise Fire responds as Foothills grass fire grows to 2,000 acres

BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – Boise Fire crews responded around 2 p.m. to a grass fire also known as the Claremont Fire in the Boise Foothills near the 1900 block of North Claremont Drive, that is now estimated to 2,000 acres, according to the Boise Fire Department.

The fire is moving north and northeast and air support is on scene.

Boise Fire officials said multiple units have responded, including several engines. About 30 minutes after the initial response, Boise Fire issued a Code Red and Wireless Emergency Alert asking people in the area to avoid the Hulls Gulch Trail system and leave immediately…
