BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Hot, dry weather is keeping firefighters on alert in the foothills northeast of Boise, even as the Claremont Fire nears full containment.
The Claremont Fire was estimated at 6,817 acres and 84% contained. The Eastern Area Complex Incident Management Team said this would be its last update on the fire. On Monday at 6 a.m., Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 3 is scheduled to take over management.
Fire officials said Saturday’s hot and dry conditions underscored the ongoing wildfire threat in the area. While containment lines on the Claremont Fire held, firefighters also responded to a new wildfire start near Idaho City.
