Southern Idaho Man Arrested for Threatening Violence Upon School Grounds

NAMPA – On August 18, 2026, at 5:27 p.m., Nampa Dispatch received a call from a utility company administrator reporting that one of their employees, while working in proximity to a Nampa elementary school, made statements to other utility company co-workers about committing school violence. Nampa Police School Resource Officers contacted the reporting party and began investigating the allegations immediately. After interviewing witnesses, officers contacted the suspect at his Caldwell home.

Michael Scott Krebs, 26 years old, of Caldwell, was arrested and charged with threatening violence upon school grounds with firearms and other deadly or dangerous weapons

The Nampa Police School Resource Officers confirmed that the suspect and witnesses, all of whom are adults, are not Nampa School District employees; the business employing them is not working for or contracted to work for the Nampa School District; and the suspect was not on school grounds when the threats were made…
