Quarterback Dante Moore spoke to the media ahead of the No. 2 Oregon Ducks’ season opener against the Boise State Broncos, and Moore revealed what the program has learned from the last time these two teams played.
Moore was on the team in 2024 when Oregon narrowly defeated Boise State 37-34 with former Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel leading the offense, and Moore shared what the Ducks are focusing on in preparation of the upcoming rematch:

“Yeah, that was a great team that we played. Still the same coaching staff. Of course, I give them the credit. Yeah, that game was just a learning moment for the offense just to start fast as an offense, just going out there, you know, not getting punched in the mouth, but going out there and just doing. what the coaches are teaching us this whole week. But, yeah, just an opportunity for us to go out there and start fast, learn from the mistakes, the coverages they do and things. So it’s a great game to look back at and, you know, learn a lot from.”

What He’s Learned About This Oregon Ducks Team
“Yeah, this team, some new faces from the last time we played them. But same, you know, staff, like I said, some great, you know, defensive coverages they do. Of course, they have some exotic looks they do, and it’s just being prepared when they’re bringing it and when they’re not bringing it. Of course, just watching film every day. It’s been a new year. A lot of defenses have changed, so there’s going to be some things out there that we haven’t seen from them at all, and just got to adjust on the fly.”
Not Making the Game Bigger Than It Is
“Yeah. I mean, we play in so much work when it comes from winter workouts, summer workouts, spring ball, fall camp. And it’s going to feel great when you go out there and don’t go against your defense. Our defense is very competitive and very challenging. And it’s just going to be great to go out there and play in Autzen, playing the best fans in the world and just be a kid out there playing the game that we love.”
“So it’s going to be, you know, a lot of emotions, a lot of energy out there when it comes game day, but we’re going to be prepared, and it’s going to be a great day for us to go out there and play football.”

“Yeah, this is someone that has really took blocking serious when it comes to actually doing the right form of blocking, knowing not to miss a block, knowing coverages, where they’re blitzing from, when they’re showing one way, going the other way. I mean, Dierre’s done a great job, and it’s just been watching the film of last year, watching the film of Noah (Whittington) from last year, just all these vets that have done it at a high level.”…
