Vehicle Caught Fire After Rollover Accident in Idaho. 1 Killed and 1 Injured.

Two men were travelling in an SUV in Western Idaho on Wednesday evening when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle rolled, both men were ejected, and the vehicle caught fire. Idaho State Police are investigating the accident.

The tragic accident happened on September 2nd, around 8 PM on Mountour Road in Gem County. The road is near State Highway 52, east of Emmett. Only one vehicle, with two occupants, was involved in the accident.

  • A 2004 Ford Excursion, driven by a 45-year-old male from Great Falls, Montana, with a 42-year-old male passenger from Emmett, Idaho, was travelling northbound on Montour Road.
  • While negotiating a curve, the vehicle overcorrected and slid off the roadway then rolled.
  • Both occupants were ejected, and the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames when it came to rest.

The driver from Montana passed away at the scene of the accident and the passenger was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital.
