The Ada County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office determined the actions of the officers involved in the fatal shooting of Colton Copeland were “justified” and no criminal charges will be filed.
As previously reported, the incident occurred on April 29 after officers responded to a stabbing victim at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. The Twin Falls Police Department (TFPD) identified a suspect, 29-year-old Colton Copeland.
TFPD said officers spent multiple hours attempting to persuade Copeland to surrender peacefully.
