A proposed data center south of Boise could build millions of square feet on federal public land and raises questions about electricity demand, wildlife and the resources needed to support another major technology project in the Treasure Valley.
Rhea Data, a subsidiary of Nevada-based Arevia Power, proposed a roughly 4 million-square-foot data center near Blacks Creek Reservoir and Interstate 84. The project remains in the early stages of the Bureau of Land Management’s review process and has not been approved.
