Boise, Idaho (CBS2) – The Idaho Humane Society says a stray cat named Sandra is recovering and ready for adoption after veterinarians discovered she had been shot and suffered a serious injury to her left hind leg.
IHS says a Good Samaritan found Sandra as a stray and brought her in for help. During her intake exam, staff noticed she was barely putting weight on her left hind leg, which also had noticeably less muscle than her other leg.
IHS says Further evaluation at the Shelter Medical Center determined Sandra had suffered a gunshot injury that caused a severe fracture extending into her ankle joint. The injury significantly damaged the joint, and surgery was needed to restore comfortable, functional use of her leg…
