BOISE, ID – John Shirts has been appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho, effective Sunday, Oct. 18.
U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche appointed Shirts to the position. He was sworn in Sunday by U.S. Chief District Judge Amanda K. Brailsford during a private ceremony.
Shirts, a fifth-generation Idahoan from Weiser, most recently served as a state representative for Idaho’s Legislative District 9. He previously worked as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Idaho from 2018 to 2024, prosecuting criminal cases in the Pocatello and Boise offices…
