Staff Sgt. Jason Barber, a member of the Idaho Army National Guard, died Oct. 24 from a non-service-related cause.
Barber enlisted in the Idaho Army National Guard in 2017 and served as an 11C indirect fire infantryman, or mortarman, in Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 116th Cavalry Regiment. He was promoted to his current rank in March and previously deployed in support of Operation Spartan Sheild from 2022-2023.
His family described him as “a spirited and adventurous soul who filled the lives of those around him with laughter and love.”…
