White Pine STEM Academy Shines in Future City Competition, Secures 4th Place Statewide

[Ammon, Idaho] — White Pine STEM Academy demonstrated exceptional innovation and engineering prowess at the Future City competition held in Boise, Idaho. The annual competition challenges students to envision and design futuristic cities with innovative solutions to address contemporary societal challenges. This year’s theme, “Electrify Your Future,” tasked participants with creating a 100% electrically powered city, emphasizing energy sources that promote the health and safety of both citizens and the environment.

In a highly competitive final round featuring 32 teams from 13 different schools across Idaho, including Ammon, Blackfoot, Boise, Caldwell, Garden Valley, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Nampa, Parma, and Sandpoint, three teams proudly represented White Pine STEM Academy. Notably, the team behind “Bottlebrush City” secured a remarkable 4th place statewide, showcasing their exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills.

The competition also recognized White Pine Charter School for its outstanding achievements in special awards. The “Sphero City” team received the “Mission Possible: Positively Impacting the Community” award, highlighting their commitment to making a positive difference in their community. Additionally, the “Bottlebrush City” team earned the “Most Livable City” award, emphasizing the excellence in creating a city that prioritizes the well-being and quality of life for its inhabitants.
