Chick-fil-A line too long? A second Meridian restaurant is planned with double drive-thru

Here’s promising news for fast-food junkies wary of the line of cars wrapping around Chick-Fil-A at The Village at Meridian.

The popular chicken chain aims to build a second location a few miles away.

Chick-fil-A has filed a building permit application for a new restaurant at 567 S. Innovation Lane , near the intersection of South Ten Mile Road and South Vanguard Way.

Plans include a double-drive thru with an escape lane and two exterior drive-through canopies, according to the filing.

Believe it or not, that would be only the second Chick-fil-A in fast-food-crazy Meridian.

Chick-fil-A already enjoys a growing Boise footprint. There are three locations: 300 S. Broadway Ave., 8000 W. Franklin Road and at the Boise State Student Union. Chick-fil-A also plans to build another Boise restaurant at 1700 S. Entertainment Ave. near the Boise Spectrum, according to filings with the city.

Nampa has a Chick-fil-A, too —at 16800 N. Marketplace Blvd.
