Whooping Cough on Rise in Southern Idaho

BOISE – Cases of pertussis (whooping cough) are on the rise in Ada County, according to Central District Health. The agency reports there have been 14 cases of pertussis reported in Ada County since Jan. 1, compared with seven cases total for the 12 months in 2023 and two cases in 2022. No cases have been reported in Boise, Elmore or Valley counties so far this year.
