Avimor annexation decision under judicial review

Avimor may have already been annexed, but some Eagle residents are determined to undo the community’s annexation.

Arguments and a petition for judicial review submitted last year by impacted residents will be presented to a judge next month.

It all started in July, when SOS Eagle Inc., including former Eagle Mayor Stan Ridgeway, filed a petition for judicial review on the Eagle City Council’s March 2023 decision to annex Avimor.

After the decision, on May 18, Eagle City Council held a public hearing on the motion for annexation reconsideration, which was submitted by impacted homeowners and petitioners. According to the submitted petition, the city council did not allow petitioners to present testimony on the motion and on June 8, the council denied the motion for reconsideration.

In August, Avimor attorney Deborah Nelson moved that the court dismiss the petitioners’ petition for Judicial Review, which was submitted in July. The motion was denied.

Now, all arguments will be presented to Judge Jonathan Medema on March 11 at 2 p.m.
