Idaho’s Governor Brad Little has ordered U.S. and State of Idaho flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Capt. Benjamin Moulton, a 27-year-old Marine from Emmett, Idaho. Moulton was one of five Marines who died in a helicopter crash during a training exercise in southern California. The flags will be lowered immediately and will stay at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

The flags flown over the Capitol building in honor of Capt. Moulton will be given to his parents. Governor Little expressed his sorrow over the loss of Moulton and the other Marines, stating that they served their country. He described the news of their deaths as deeply affecting everyone.

Governor Little also mentioned Capt. Moulton’s Idaho roots, dating back to the 1880s, and his many achievements throughout his life. He commended Moulton’s dedication to the U.S. Marine Corps and the country, and asked Idahoans to pray for the families of these servicemen and join him in honoring Capt. Moulton.
