Meridian council worries it will have its version of Boise ‘hole’: Union 93 project faces millions in liens, lawsuits

When a crane came down at the Union 93 building in December 2022, the developer said it was being replaced with two new ones – from there, the story continued to evolve. Meridian Development Corporation was told work on the site would resume in February 2022, but it didn’t. Bill Truax, the president of the project’s developer Galena Opportunity Fund, later told BoiseDev the project had stalled due to financing issues and that construction would resume in mid-April 2023. In August 2023, Truax said Galena had finally closed the deal on financing, and construction on the project will continue “as soon as we can negotiate all relevant contracts.”
