Warplanes takeoff at Warhawk Air Museum

NAMPA — Planes will take flight this weekend at the Warhawk Air Museum’s 22nd Warbird Roundup.

Running Saturday and Sunday, the two-day airshow features historic warplanes from across the country. The museum expects this weekend to be the biggest roundup ever, as the event grows every year, with more planes and more vendors.

In line with the museum’s mission of educating the public on military history, attendees can learn from announcers who will highlight the planes being flown. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the pilots flying that day and explore the museum.

A featured speaker, retired Air Force pilot Chris Fahey, served as an instructor and a forward air controller during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Fahey will relay the history of the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II.

Gates open at 8:30 a.m. with flying scheduled from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at warhawkairmuseum.org/series/warbird-roundup-weekend . Children 14 years and under attend for free. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs.
