Boise OKs 3,500 home planned community over staff concern about financial impact

Thousands more homes are headed to Southwest Boise, but the developer will have to pay up to make it happen. On Tuesday, the Boise City Council voted 4-2 to approve Murio Farms, a 380-acre planned community with 3,500 homes in Southwest Boise, after years of questions about the long-term costs of serving the community on the outskirts of the city. The community, located between Maple Grove and Cole Roads north of the New York Canal, has been in front of city staff for review due to questions aboutits financial impact on the city since 2021. It’s being developed by several groups, including the Murgoitio family and an LLC linked to Don Hubble, owner of Hubble Homes.
