‘A price to pay for epic’: Boise State to replace damaged goalpost after fans storm field

BOISE, Idaho – As fans stormed the field Friday night after Boise State University’s Mountain West Conference win, the north end goal post was left with the damage. Fans climbed on top of the goalpost, knocked the uprights down, and then threw those uprights into the Boise River – one off of Friendship Bridge and the other off of Broadway Bridge. Now, BSU’s senior associate athletic director for operations and governance, Nathan Burk, said they are asking for the uprights to be returned to the blue.
