Burgeoning Avimor area could see over 2,000 residential units, commercial development coming soon

EAGLE — More homes are being built in the Treasure Valley — this time, in Eagle’s recent Avimor annexation.

The Sub-Area Plan (SAP) for over 2,000 residential units was presented to the Eagle City Council by Deputy Planning and Zoning Administrator Daniel Miller and Avimor General Manager Brad Pfannmuller on Tuesday.

After the presentation, the application passed unanimously, with several council members noting their congratulations to both Miller and Pfannmuller.

“I’m totally in favor of this,” council member Mary May said. “… I feel like I’ve just been on this ride with Avimor, watching right from day one and what you’ve accomplished up there is really extraordinary … you guys have worked awfully hard.”

The Eagle City Council has deliberated over Avimor for several years, notably discussing the annexation of the property in early 2023, which sparked concerns among many residents — particularly a group called SOS Eagle. The initial annexation of Avimor into Eagle was in March 2023, which passed in the city council with a 3-1 ruling, with then-council member — and now mayor — Brad Pike voting against the annexation. The council’s decision last year resulted in SOS Eagle filing a petition for a judicial review. In March, Judge Jonathan Medema ruled against SOS Eagle’s claims that the Avimor annexation impacted residents’ property rights.
