Woman charged in connection to prison escape, shooting at Boise hospital sentenced to 25 years

BOISE, Idaho – A woman who was charged in connection to aiding and abetting two men in a prison break at a Boise hospital earlier this year was sentenced to prison. On Friday, Dec. 20, Tia Garcia was sentenced in an Ada County courtroom to 25 years in prison for aiding and abetting and persistent violator charges. She assisted in the escape of Skylar Meade, an Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) inmate who was being treated at the Saint Alphonsus in Boise.
