GARDEN CITY, Idaho (CBS2) – Garden City’s Police Chief Cory Stambaugh is sharing his concerns about how those convicted of crime in the Treasure Valley are dealt with, and the toll it takes on law enforcement. He said many of the problems are coming from repeat offenders who aren’t being properly supervised. Sometimes these situations arise due to a lack of communication from the Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC). In an interview with CBS2, Stambaugh shared examples of criminals put on probation early, policies not being followed, and inconsistencies within the system, eventually putting the community and police officers back at risk.
