BOISE — A man was arrested in Boise after trying to strangle a woman and having a standoff with law enforcement. The Boise Police Department (BPD) arrested 41-year-old Cody Harrigan from Boise and charged him with attempted strangulation and resisting arrest.
BPD said it happened near S. Leadville Ave and W. Highland St. on Jan. 3 around 8 p.m.
“Evidence indicates the suspect, Cody Harrigan, was attempting to strangle a female victim inside the home. Officers arrived and safely rescued the victim and 3 children from the home,” BPD stated.
Police said after hours of negotiating with Harrigan with the Boise Police Special Operations Unit, he exited independently. BPD said they investigated, arrested and booked him into the Ada County Jail.
