Caldwell settles on final amount with parking management company

The city of Caldwell agreed to pay a final amount of $175,000 to parking management company The Car Park, after their contract over the city’s now-defunct parking meters expired in early fall.

The meters, which the city leased alongside associated equipment from The Car Park, were in effect from May 15 to Aug. 30 last year.

They were originally approved by the city council as a way to promote turnover in downtown Caldwell’s parking spots, but were discontinued after proving overwhelmingly unpopular with residents and businesses on grounds like user inaccessibility and revenue loss…
