Kuna firefighters join battle against California’s Eaton Fire

KUNA, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a Kuna Rural Fire District Facebook post, Kuna firefighters have arrived in California as part of Idaho Task Force 2 to assist with the Eaton Fire.

The Eaton Fire has burned over 14,000 acres and is 33 percent contained. The Palisades Fire burned over 23,000 acres and is only 14 percent contained, while the Hurst Fire sits at 99 percent contained and has burned under 800 acres.

The ongoing California wildfires have killed at least 24 people and destroyed over 12,000 structures. Over 90,000 residents are under evacuation orders, and 89,000 are in evacuation warning zones meaning they may need to leave at a moment’s notice…
